What it do.

Alright folks, so today we're going to mix this whole thing up, and instead of featuring a product, we're going to give the masses some hair advice! One of the things we see most often in our professional experience, is the lack of hair care products. The number one thing we can say on this is that the product makes or breaks a hair do! If you've been using the same shampoo for a few months, and aren't getting the same results you were when you started using it, or aren't feeling happy with your hair, then more likely than not, it's time to change up your product!! You're hair will build up a resistance to the beneficial effects of any given shampoo given long enough. Another crucial bit of hair advice, is that you NEED to put on a thermal protect-ant to stop your hair from losing to much moisture. If you're not using one, you're putting the equivalent heat of an OVEN on your head. Basically, the more yo love on your hair, the more it will love on you.

Alright now everyone, the moment you've been waiting for (we know, we know), our featured stylist section!! Today we'll be featuring our Owner, and Master Stylist, Giovanni Scott:



I am a small town guy but with big time goals! I have always had a strong passion for hair and fashion in general, but wasn't sure what i wanted to do with my life. So after graduating from high school i decided to join the Marine Corps. Which i was glad that i did because it showed me to work hard for what i want in life and the discipline needed to accomplish my goals. After the Marines i decided to go to college and never really felt that the college life style was for me. I took some time off to figure out what i wanted to do with my life when a friend of mine asked me why don't i go to hair school since i was cutting all of my friends hair? So i took his advise and decided to enroll into Paul Mitchell the School and fell in love! My passion for hair has never stopped growing since then! I have done the hair for several different music videos and album covers for Sleeptheif, UK sensation Kristy Hawkshaw, Jody Quine, and Zoe Johnston. I have also done the hair for Paul Mitchell's Signature Gathering showcasing 2 models for the main stage performance. I have also done done 8 different hair extension models for Paul Mitchell the Schools Las Vegas Caper Show. I also work for Paul Mitchell the School in Provo as their Texture specialist. We also travel to other hair schools with my salons artistic team and teach a guest artist. I have also done the hair for various different company's and commercials. I hope to own more salons in the near future and travel doing platform work for Paul Mitchell. I would say that my specialty areas are cutting, extensions, and either creating texture or manipulating it. My all time love is and always will be styling hair. (It's in I, we let it write it himself, since he IS the boss)

Anyways, we might not be gracing you with our presence (new posts) this weekend, since it IS Memorial Day, and we'll be partying it up!! Remember to honor your veterans!

Introducing...

Alright, so here's our second day of having this bad boy, so here's our second blog post!!!

For the first half of this post, we're going to be talking about the dark underworld of GROCERY STORE SHAMPOOS. In our professional experience, the cheaper a product is, the worse it is for your hair. Since we can't bash on ALL of them in our post (we love you guys, but not that much) we'll go ahead and talk about the two worst that we can think of. The winners of this title are Suave and Pantene ProV. These products both contain a chemical called methylisothiazoline, which has been linked to nerve damage, abnormal brain development, as well as Alzheimer's Disease.(information gathered from http://www.rense.com/general63/nerv.htm) Aside from possibly turning you into damaged goods, these products contain a large amount of a wax base which over time will cause your hair to feel greasy, creates static as well as putting too much of a protein called keratin into your hair. Long story short, unless it comes from the salon, it's most likely not recommended for use on your noggin.


For the second part of our post today, we'll be featuring another one of our wonderful stylists!! Today we'll be talking about one of our Senior Stylists, Janelle Duval.


Originally from Sacramento, California; Janelle has always had a natural talent for art which eventually evolved to the art of hair. Ever since she was young, Janelle has been interested in hair. She would cut her own hair as well as her friends, do up-do's for the prom, and practice new ideas for hairstyles on her little sister and children she babysat. Once the opportunity came for her to go to cosmetology school she decided to go to Utah to have a new scenery and make new friends. She went to the Paul Mitchell School in Provo at the age of 18. Janelle seemed to succeed fairly quickly through the program. She was so determined to start working in a salon that she didn't take a single break. She finished school just after turning 20 in 2009. Right after graduating she got a job at Gianni International as a stylist. Not originally being from Utah was hard trying to gain a clientele, but with enough determination she was able to gain the clientele she needed to become senior stylist. She is still currently working at the salon after a year of hard work, specializing in hair cutting, color, and up-dos.

As it says in our bio, we're located in the ever pleasant Provo,Ut, and we love what we do. We've been here for a few years now, and we hope to be here a few years more!! Alright, now for some explaining of this whole thing, and as to why there are three different prices on all hair services. Here at Gianni International we have 3 different level of stylists, starting at Stylist, and going all the way to Master Stylist. Stylist is your entry level, meaning that you're newer to the salon, and that you may still be building your clientele. Senior Stylist is the next level of stylist, meaning that you've worked here a bit longer, and that you have a larger client base than your entry level. Our highest level of Stylist is Master Stylist, meaning that you've worked here long enough to garner a rather large clientele, and that you've more likely than not been in the Industry longer. Alright everyone, one last thing before we leave you, just so that you're not unfamiliar with all of us that are working here, we're going to be featuring a different stylist or product every day here.

Our lucky stylist here today is the ever gracious Katie Alt, one of our Stylists.


Katie's love of hairstyling must run in the family because Katie's grandmother owned her own salon in southern California, and has three cousins who also do hair. Katie grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and has always been very creative and artistic, so when deciding on what career to pursue a hairstylist was a natural choice. She moved to Provo the fall after graduating High School to attend Paul Mitchell the School. She excelled in school and made a lot of good friends while getting a great education. During her time in school she fell in love with the mountains and comparatively cooler weather of Utah, so after graduating she looked for local salons and found Gianni International. She is now a stylist there specializing in hair cutting and color.
